Show & Tell

I'd like to know more!

What do I bring?!? Are linens and pillows provided?

Nearer the date, we will send you a complete "Things to bring to camp" list. You will bring your own pillow, towels and linens. We will have soap and of course toilet paper!

Bugs, poison ivy, snakes? (Mosquitoes think I'm delicious; what assaults by Nature can I expect?

Yes, John Knox Ranch has all those things! And it is fantastic! We are truly in the heart of nature. There are tons of bugs, but luckily, only a couple are out to make you itch. We recommend that you bring bug spray for mosquitoes. The rest of the bugs are fascinating to watch and make great subjects for photos.

The snakes are there too. However, Damien worked at John Knox Ranch as a camp counselor for 7 years, 3 months each summer. In that time he only saw 3 snakes.  The chance of seeing one in 3 days... very low.  // We will be keeping to maintained paths, so poison ivy risk will also be very low.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can receive a full refund up until 2 weeks before the event if for some reason you are unable to make it. After that, you will be refunded at 50%. In case of flooding or poor weather (it has been known to happen), we will do our best to find an alternative date and refund those who cannot make the new sessions.

I want to come with my spouse/partner, how will that work?

We welcome couples to come but please be aware that we will have a men's cabin and a women's cabin. You will not be able to bunk together for this particular event. For some of you, that might be a nice new adventure!

I have some physical limitations. How fit do I need to be?

The majority of our activities can be adapted to those who may not be super physically fit. We will have people available to help you into canoes and archery could be done sitting if necessary. The walking terrain however is rock and grass so if that might be difficult and you need an assistive device, please bring it with you.

Will there be a nurse?

Yes! We will have a nurse at camp as well as a life guard to be available during canoeing.
